The present invention relates to a substantially dry, disposable personal
care article comprising: a) a water insoluble substrate comprising: 1)
a non-scouring, lofty, low-density batting layer comprising synthetic
fibers; and 2) a non-lofty, fluid-permeable nonwoven layer which is
disposed adjacent to said batting layer; and b) a cleansing component
disposed adjacent to said batting layer, wherein said component comprises
from about 10% to about 1000%, by weight of the water insoluble
substrate, of a lathering surfactant. The present invention further
relates to a substantially dry, disposable personal care article suitable
for conditioning wherein the above-described article comprises a
therapeutic benefit component, disposed adjacent to said water insoluble
substrate, wherein said component comprises from about 10% to about
1000%, by weight of the water insoluble substrate, of a therapeutic
benefit component in addition to or in lieu of the cleansing
component.These articles have been found to be particularly useful for
personal cleansing applications, namely for the skin and hair. Thus, the
present invention further relates to methods of cleansing and/or
conditioning skin and hair utilizing the articles of the present
invention.
