A solid electrolyte type fuel battery in which a material for an
interconnector for connecting cells of the solid electrolyte type fuel
battery comprises a matrix of the general formula MTiO.sub.3, where M is
an alkaline earth metal element such as Mg, Ca, Sr or Ba. This fuel
battery can be produced by burning at a lower temperature of 1,300 to
1,400.degree. C. than before, shows output performance comparable to or
better than that of conventional devices, and has better durability and
thermo cycle resistance characteristics than the conventional devices.
