The colorants for keratin fibers are based on oxidation dye precursors and/or direct dyes and contain a combination of (a) at least one nonionic, amphiphilic associative thickener, (b) at least one fatty alcohol that is liquid at 25.degree. C. and (c) PEG-150/stearyl alcohol/SMDI copolymer in a suitable cosmetic carrier.
