A GPS microstrip antenna designed to receive satellite provided GPS
position information for use by a fourteen inch diameter projectile. The
GPS microstrip antenna is configured to wrap around the projectile's body
without interfering with the aerodynamic design of the projectile. The
GPS microstrip antenna operates at 1.575 GHz with a bandwidth of .+-.10
MHz. Eight microstrip antenna elements equally spaced around the
projectile provide for right hand circular polarization and a quasi-omni
directional radiation pattern.
