The power consumed by a light source associated with a device can be
reduced by selectively influencing the activation and deactivation of the
light source. A label associated with a unit of content that is
"playable" on the device can selectively influence the activation and
deactivation of the device. By a way of example, a light source
associated with a satellite radio could automatically turn on when a new
song starts to play. Different embodiments can involve vastly different
types of content, remote devices, and activation/deactivation triggers.
