The present invention provides a composition for preventing or treating diseases accompanied by a decrease in bone weight, hypertension and diseases resulting from hypertension, the composition containing, as an active component, at least one member selected from the a compound represented by formula (I) ##STR00001## wherein A and B are the same or different and are independently selected from the group consisting of halogen, amino, amidino, anilinoamide, mercapto, sulfonic acid, phosphate, carboxy, hydroxy C.sub.1 C.sub.5 alkyl, sugar residue, --OR.sup.1, and --OCOR.sup.2; wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C.sub.1 C.sub.5 alkyl, hydroxy C.sub.1 C.sub.5 alkyl, and C.sub.2 C.sub.5 alkenyl; and R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 C.sub.5 alkyl, hydroxy C.sub.1 C.sub.5 alkyl, and C.sub.2 C.sub.5 alkenyl; n is number of substituents A present and is a number from 0 to 5; and m is number of substituents B present and is a number from 0 to 5.
