The present invention is directed to compounds of formula I: where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, and R.sup.5 are as defined herein, and methods of their use for treating certain nervous system disorders and conditions, including, inter alia, vasomotor symptoms (VMS) and chronic pain.
