Protective flexible packaging is designed to allow a consumer to determine
the presence or absence of an odor in a packaged object. The object is
preferably a device used for emitting a volatile active material such as
a fragrance and the flexible packaging is preferably a shrink wrap
material. The objects are wrapped with a shrink wrap having openings
comprising no more than 10% of the total surface area of the shrink wrap
film on the object. Through the use of the instant invention consumers
can sense the olfactory quality of a product while the product is
substantially protected during shipment, storage, and display.
