The present invention relates to the use of dihydropteridinones of formula 1 wherein the groups X, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 have the meanings given in the claims and specification, for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of respiratory diseases.
