A coextruded multi-layer film has at least one starch blend layer of a
modified thermoplastic starch blend that contains more than 1% to 10%
water and at least one polyester layer of a biodegradable polyester. The
starch blend layer contains no polyhydroxyalkanoate copolymer of at least
a first and a second randomly repeating monomer units. The coextruded
multi-layer film is stretched after coextrusion and is suitable for
packaging food.
