A digital signature is embedded in the header of selected content to be
transmitted. A recipient of the content identifies the priority of the
content according to header line content or signature presence and
segregates signed priority content from non-authenticated content.
Signature generation and filtering as well as certification are
accomplished by running application specific software on a selected
computer. Required e-mail access level may vary with the intended
recipient and/or with the instrumentality by which e-mail access is
allowed.
