A system and method for determining software maturity, the method
comprising the steps of building an uncensored belief distribution from a
set of observed test data, building belief distributions based on
improvement factors, convoluting the uncensored belief distribution with
the belief distribution on improvement factors to form a censored belief
distribution. From these belief distributions, a 3-way assessment is made
including establishing an a priori belief distribution to assess a level
of software maturity.
