The invention is directed to methods of treating, preventing, or inhibiting a Hepatitis C viral infection in a mammal comprising contacting the mammal with an effective amount of a compound of the formula: ##STR00001## Wherein substitutions at R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3--R.sub.12, and Y are set forth in the specification.
