The present invention provides a sintered body of titanium compound obtained by sintering the titanium compound and a method for producing the same. A titanium compound represented by the formula (1) or (2) below is sintered. [Ca.sub.10(PO.sub.4).sub.6]TiO.sub.3.nH.sub.2O (1) [Ca.sub.10(PO.sub.4).sub.6]TiO.sub.2(OH).sub.2 (2) (In the formulae, n is an integer of from 0 to 3). The obtained sintered body substantially consists of perovskite and whitlokite.
