Nanotubes are treated with poly{(5-alkoxy-m-phenylenevinylene)-co-[(2,5-dioctyloxy-p-phenylene)vinyl- ene]} (PAmPV) polymers and derivatives thereof to provide noncovalent functionalization of the nanotubes which increases solubility and enhances other properties.
