The present invention is related to a mesoporous carbon molecular sieve,
which can be used as a catalyst carrier capable of improving the activity
of a supported catalyst and a method of preparing the same. Additionally,
the invention is related to a supported catalyst employing the mesoporous
carbon molecular sieve as a carrier, and a fuel cell employing the
supported catalyst. The mesoporous carbon molecular sieve has an average
primary particle size of less than about 500 nm, an average mesopore size
in the range of about 3 nm to about 6 nm, and a surface area in the range
of about 500 m.sup.2/g to about 2000 m.sup.2/g.
