Amine polymers, particularly aliphatic amine polymers, are useful in the treatment and prevention of bone disease and in methods for promoting bone formation. Sevelemer, polyallylamine crosslinked with epichlorohydrin, which is sold under the tradename Renagel.RTM., is the preferred polymer used in the invention.
