A method of providing high availability enhancement for servers using
structured query language (SQL), includes: installing hardware for
cluster configuration; installing an operating system, SQL application,
and eRoom application in a first server; duplicating a disk image of the
first server to a second server; performing an initial cluster
configuration procedure for eventually permitting the first server and
second server to function in a clustered configuration; performing an
eRoom cluster configuration procedure to permit one of the first server
and second server to run the eRoom application that is installed in a
shared storage in the cluster configuration; and performing an SQL
cluster configuration procedure to install the SQL application in the
shared storage. An apparatus for providing high availability enhancement
for servers using structured query language (SQL), includes: a cluster
configuration including a first server, a second server, and a shared
storage, where an eRoom application is configured to run on one of the
first server and second server, with the eRoom application installed in a
shared disk in the shared storage, and where the shared disk is
configured to move to the other one of the first server and second server
as part of the cluster configuration on fail-over.
