Another method includes prophylactically treating vascular calcification or vascular calcification-related conditions by administering to an individual in need of treatment an effective amount of at least one effector agent. Still another method includes treating vascular calcification by administering an effective amount of at least one effector agent to an individual in need of treatment via hemodialysis.
