Resources at a communication device having its own memory device are managed. A cleanup request is received at the communication device over a bandwidth-limited connection. An available space on the memory device of the communication device at a first time is less than a predetermined amount. The first time is before the receiving of the cleanup request. Data stored at the memory device of the communication device is deleted based on the cleanup request. An available-space indicator is sent from the communication device at a second time. The second time is after the first time and after the deleting of the data.
