In order to generate a conversion condition for converting data in a color space independent of a device into data in a color space dependent on a device, a condition for restricting the amount of recording material is set, an output value of a solid on which a color reproducible by an output device in a three-dimensional color space is defined is computed based on the set condition, and the conversion condition is generated based on the colorimetry value of the color reproduced by the output device corresponding to the computed output value.
