which has high capacity and high output and is inhibited from suffering a
decrease in output with repetitions of charge and use.The invention
provides a positive-electrode material for lithium secondary battery,
which comprises a secondary particle of a lithium/transition metal
composite oxide containing boron and/or bismuth, and wherein the atomic
ratio of the sum of boron and bismuth to the sum of the metallic elements
other than lithium, boron, and bismuth in a surface part of the secondary
particle is from 5 times to 70 times the atomic ratio in the whole
secondary particle.
