Disclosed are 6-formyl-tetrahydropteridines of the formula (I) ##STR00001## wherein the groups R.sup.1 to R.sup.6 have the meanings given in the claims and specification, the isomers thereof, methods of preparing these 6-formyl-tetrahydropteridines and their use as medicaments.
