Users access an information inquiry platform with mobile phones, in order to search for and download information. Depending on the type of requested information a content provider obtains or supplies the user's desired information. The information is then transmitted to a common service platform. The common service platform transmits the information to the user's mobile phone via a multimedia service center. If necessary, the user's location can be automatically obtained in order to provide location specific information such as maps, directions, or addresses.
