In the solid-state imaging device, a vertical signal line through which image signals from a single column of pixels are output is selectively connected to a given number, which is more than one, of the column circuits, and a signal from a selected pixel row is selectively output to one of the given number of the column circuits so that signals read out from the same pixel can be sent to the same column circuit.
