A method for customizing header pages, footer pages, and/or separator
pages is disclosed. According to one aspect, a user interface is
displayed. The user interface comprises user interface elements through
which a user can specify user-customized content that is to appear on an
additional page that is to be printed with the pages of an electronic
document. A user-generated representation of the content is received
through the user interface. A printer driver generates modified print
data based on additional print data, which represents the additional
page, and original print data, which represents the electronic document.
The modified print data causes the printing device to print the
user-customized content on a header, footer, or separator page. As a
result, when the printing device receives the modified print data, the
printing device prints the header, footer, or separator page, with the
user-customized content, in addition to the pages of the electronic
document.
