The slanted front comprises a window for a scan module, such as, for example a camera, and an illumination module. The slanted front guides a user to tilt the scanner when scanning dataforms. Additionally, the internal scan module can be positioned to view a target dataform at an angle, even when the object being scanned is not tilted with regard to the scanner body.
