The invention provides new inhibitors of histone deacetylase enzymatic activity, compositions of the compounds comprising the inhibitors and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient, or diluent, and methods of using the compounds to inhibit cellular proliferation in vitro and therapeutically.
