Disclosed is a method and device for suturing tissue and implanting
prosthetic grafts, the device includes 1) at least one flexible cannula
having a means to remotely manipulate the configuration of its distal
end, and 2) a suction capsule component that may be incorporated or fit
within or about the flexible cannula. The flexible cannula and suction
capsule component are of a size that allows them to be inserted,
independently or as a unit, into a natural body orifice or small surgical
incision. The suction component may be used to draw tissue into an
opening in the suction capsule component, enabling the at least one
needle to be advanced through the at least one flexible cannula thereby
passing through the tissue held by the at least one opening in the
suction capsule component and thereby delivering the attached suture to
the tissue.
