The present invention relates to a multiple stress inducible promoter, more particularly to a multiple stress inducible peroxidase promoter derived by Ipomoea batatas, a expression vector for production of transgenic plants with enhanced tolerance to multiple stress containing the promoter, a transgenic plant cell and plants transduced by the expression vector, and a method for generating the transgenic plants. Promoter of present invention will be biotechnologically useful for develpoment of industrial transgenic plants with enhanced toleransce to multiple stress and plant cell lines to produce useful proteins.
