Personal floatation devices for use in supporting an individual in a face
up and horizontal position along the surface of the water are disclosed.
An illustrative personal floatation device may include a main body, at
least one upper inflatable floatation member for providing floatation
support to an upper section of the main body, at least one lower
inflatable flotation member for providing floatation support to a lower
section of the main body, and inflation means for selectively inflating
each of the one or more upper and/or lower inflatable floatation members.
The personal floatation device can be configured to provide floatation
support to the individual's upper and lower torso as well as to the hip
section and buttocks. The personal floatation device may provide buoyancy
sufficient to orient the individual in a face up and horizontal position
while also stabilizing the individual within the water.
