The present invention relates to derivatives of aroyl-O-piperidine structure of the general formula (I): in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are as defined in the description. Application of the compounds of the formula (I) to the treatment of hyper-triglyceridaemia, hypercholesterolaemia and dyslipidaemia, and to the prevention or treatment of obesity.
