Meanwhile, a CPU 21 sets up a second video converter 31 to encode and to output, as a Y/C signal f, a digital broadcast video signal received across a signal path 33, and also transmits an initialization end notification to the CPU 41. Upon receiving this notification, the CPU 41 sets up the video signal selector 47 to select the Y/C signal f output by the second video converter 31.
