The system includes an arcuate detector transport member that extends circumferentially about an examination axis, a base comprising an arcuate transport element configured to receive the detector transport member wherein the base is configured to translate the arcuate detector transport member in an arcuate path about the examination axis, and at least one gamma camera detector coupled to the detector transport member.
