The present invention provides an agent for the prophylaxis or treatment of metabolic syndrome, which comprises 2-ethoxy-1-[[2'-(5-oxo-2,5-dihydro-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]met- hyl]-1H-benzimidazole-7-carboxylic acid or a salt thereof or a prodrug thereof and a PPAR agonist-like substance in combination.
