Diagnostic information is produced from a computer memory operably
connected to a DBMS. A command is received from a user wherein the
command comprises an identifier of a resource associated with the DBMS.
The identifier is utilized to determine one or more control blocks
residing within the computer memory and wherein the one or more control
blocks are related to the resource. The memory locations occupied by the
one or more control blocks are determined and the contents of the memory
locations are then copied to a target destination. In this manner, the
target destination forms a logical dump containing the diagnostic
information.
