An inkjet recording ink including an aqueous medium having dissolved therein a phthalocyanine dye, wherein the phthalocyanine dye is a water-soluble dye having an oxidation potential more positive than 1.0 V (vs SCE) and the ink includes a water-miscible organic solvent having a vapor pressure of 2,000 Pa or less at 20.degree. C.; and an inkjet recording method using the ink.
