The present invention is smart burn method for optical drives. When the
laser pick-up head bears great oscillations along the vertical and
horizontal directions, the laser light cannot focus on the track
accurately that causes the failure of writing. The present invention
proposes a re-link method employing a technique of controlling focus
error signal, tracking error signal, or both, and capable of
automatically reducing the writing speed of an optical drive while
detecting an occurrence of a preset burn-error parameter is being
exceeded, such that a stable and good writing quality can be achieved.
