The quality of the packet switched connection is measured and a target Signal Interference Ratio is adjusted based on the quality measurement. When a transceiver receiving packets transmits a request to retransmit in the case of failure in reception of at least one packet, a transceiver transmitting packets is configured to retransmit each packet requested as a response to the request. The target Signal Interference Ratio for retransmission of a packet is set lower than the target Signal Interference Ratio for the first transmission of the corresponding packet.
