A controlled release formulation comprising less than about 40% of anti-epileptic drug, about 20% to about 50% of rate controlling polymer and silica having a particle size less than about 1 micron and specific surface area not less than 70 m.sup.2/g, all weight percentages are based upon the total weight of the dosage form, manufactured under normal atmospheric conditions.
