The present invention relates to specific N.sup..alpha.-(menthanecarbonyl)amino acid amides of the formula (I): and mixtures thereof and to the use of the specific N.sup..alpha.-(menthanecarbonyl)amino acid amides and mixtures thereof as physiological cooling active ingredients.
