A method for temporarily preventing automatic gear shifting in a vehicle,
comprising the steps of: preventing gear shifting as long as a traction
control system indicates that at least one driven wheel is spinning,
calculating a vehicle acceleration, calculating a value of a derivative
of the acceleration or a value indicative of a difference between the
vehicle acceleration and a previously calculated vehicle acceleration,
and preventing gear shifting for a predetermined time, if the value is
equal or higher than a predetermined value. A system, a computer program,
a computer program product and an electronic control unit for performing
the method are also disclosed.
