Disclosed herein is the cosmetic use, as a desquamating agent, of at least one (dihydro)jasmonic acid derivative of a given formula.Further disclosed herein is a cosmetic method for smoothing the visible and/or tactile irregularities of the skin surface, for example, for smoothing wrinkles and fine lines and/or skin spots and/or smoothing the skin, comprising topically applying, to the skin, a composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium, at least one (dihydro)jasmonic acid derivative and glycerine.Other embodiments disclosed herein are novel (dihydro)jasmonic acid derivatives.
