The present invention relates to the use as perfuming ingredient of a decaline derivative of formula ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 is a lower alkyl, the R.sup.2 to R.sup.5 are hydrogen atoms or lower alkyls and at least one dotted line is a double bond, which is a useful perfuming ingredient of the woody or woody-citrus type.
