The invention relates to a method of inserting a message in a sequence of digital images, characterized in that it comprises the insertion (S4), in the spatial domain, of at least one symbol of the message in at least one part of an image (I.sub.n), said image being bounded between two images in which no symbol is inserted in their respective parts in spatial correspondence with said part.
