The invention relates to the treatment of burn injuries. Described are methods for modulating a burn injury in a subject, the method comprising providing the subject with a gene-regulatory peptide or functional analogue thereof. Also described is the use of an NF-kappaB down-regulating peptide or functional analogue thereof for the production of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of burn injury of a subject.
