The medicament is in particular suitable for the prophylaxis or treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2, and for improving the blood flow, in particular in peripheral blood vessels. Further subject matter of the invention is the use of said plant material or of said active compounds obtainable therefrom for the prophylaxis or treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2, or for improving the blood flow, in particular in peripheral blood vessels, respectively, as well as for the preparation of respective medicaments.
