In a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell including a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a non-aqueous electrolyte, the negative electrode includes a material capable of absorbing or releasing lithium and wherein the non-aqueous electrolyte contains a room-temperature molten salt having a melting point of 60.degree. C. or less and a lithium salt.
