A novelty bow or ornament that is securable to a conventional gift package. The bow or ornament includes a concealed sound generator module having a battery, a tilt sensor, a data storage means, and a playback means which drives a speaker to emit prerecorded life-like sounds whenever the device is tilted more than 30.degree. from its normally level position. Sounds may include a breaking glass, cat screaming, a dog barking, a car starting and peeling out, or the like. A power switch provides a means to extend battery life.
