The present invention provides methods for preventing and/or treating bleeding episodes by administering a single dose of Factor VIIa or a Factor VIIa equivalent. Preferably, the single dose comprises between about 150 and about 500 .mu.g/kg Factor VIIa or Factor VIIa equivalent.
